Economy
The under world
The upper world
The global economy of Project XYZ is dynamic and determined based on an equation around the price of Oil versus the local currency value compared to the global average*.
The external variables that influence the economy are, the players transactions for goods and services, but also those involved in trading on behalf of investment banks, export and import of goods, the tax level imposed by the elected officials etc...
Players have the means to address a problematic situation such as a global crash of the economy, via institutional jobs (politicians, economists at the central bank, large corporation's shareholders).
The game is designed to distribute power amongst multiple institutions and individuals which are all interdependent at a certain level. Ultimately, executive decisions are made either by the authority of the position, or a vote.
Players of the upper world make ingame money by working as employees, entrepreneurs, or government employees.
Players can hire NPCs and other players. It is possible to sell shares of a player created company, introduce it to the public market, create bearer bonds, or sell their personal shares of a business.
*the mentioned equation isn't done yet.
The under world is the second major force in Project XYZ. Plenty of illegal activities can be done and can generate huge amounts of money. However, the prison sentences are quite long and the police have multiple means to investigate crimes after they are committed.
Therefore, criminals have to properly plan and execute, if they want to prosper. The player discovers the possibilities of this gameplay by getting introduced to this world by an NPC. The rest is personal experience, trial and error.
Prison is not the end of it. There is a gameplay inside of those walls, challenging and oppressing, but rewards success with XP, Reputation and Leveling.
