Simulation for roleplaying
It's all about immersion and fun.
This soul-tortured Europol agent could be you. The Bureau is hiring...
We are in Europe 2008, in the midst of the subprime crisis.
Politicians, gangsters and business opportunists all fight for control. You create a character and pick a side. The underworld or the upperworld.
The rest is your history.

The vehicle system
The player experience a high variation of commercial activities and jobs, which all have an impact on the rest of society at various degrees.
Players will regroup in countries where their native language is spoken.
They have freedom of movement within the Schengen zone, which gives them opportunities for international trade, or any other large scale legal or illegal roleplay activity.
The map is the whole Europe, at a scale approximately ten time smaller than reality (200 km2 including the Ocean).
Project[codename]XYZ is not a hardcore simulator. It offers 3 layers of difficulties of jobs, and a variety of activities where communication and strategy would be the main skills to master.
Roleplaying is all about immersion and fun.
Wherever it can benefit the gameplay, real-time simulation is used in project XYZ.
The player can drive vehicles with a force feedback driving wheel, and the physics and handling of the car is based on Unreal Engine 5 chaos vehicle framework.
The force feedback algorithm is home-made, and depict a realistic driving feeling, as it is directly linked to the physics calculation of the weight shifting of the vehicle and tire grip on the surface.
The vehicle deformation and G forces, impact the damage/physiology system of the characters involved in a collision.
Operating vehicles affects the gameplay at many levels especially for those roleplaying as truckers, police officers, criminals, as the challenge of driving well is a skill that a player can master only with time and experience.

The body physiology system
The medical physiology of the character is fully simulated by a c++ framework (Pulse Physiology Engine), used by professionals for medical research, education and training purpose.
It is implemented at 3 level of difficulty in project XYZ to allow players to experience a progression at their own desired pace.
Failure is probably a part of the fun, especially for sim enthusiasts who want a bit of challenge in their gameplay.

A few features of the model :
-External ballistics - gravity, drag, wind
-Travel time
-Ricochets
-Wall penetration
-Affected by physics material
-Ballistic curves and variable air density
-Object Pooling
The ballistic system
The ballistic system in Project XYZ is made with the plugin EasyBallistics, which is linked to the physiology system of the player's character. EasyBallistics is the most used framework in FPS made with unreal engine.
Damages made to a character from a physic action are processed into it's physiological system via external and internal hitboxes.
It allows the developer to get full control of a projectile behavior before, during and after impact.
